The wait for class X students seems to finally be over. The CBSE Class X results for the Chennai region, which covers Maharashtra and nine other states and union territories, have been declared today. The results were out on 21st May 2012 at 6:00 PM on Monday. You can check the results at http://cbseresults.nic.in./. Students of other regions will have to wait for another couple of days. Sources claim that the results of other regions could be announced on May 26, 2012.
The declaration of the CBSE Class X result had been postponed for a long time. The reason for the delay is Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), which has been introduced from this year. However, some officials blamed the delay to the All India Engineering Entrance Examination paper leak. As per the CBSE official the entire exam machinery was involved in organising the paper all over again, which made the evaluation and assessment work suffer.
