The CBSE board introduced comprehensive and continuous evaluation (CCE) system from October, a system with core purpose of grading students not only in five subjects but also rated while keeping their holistic development in mind. Sources said there would be two columns in the report cards. One would be for academic performance and the other for co-scholastic section, under which a student would be graded for life skills like thinking, social and emotional knowledge and attitudes and values.
SK Jainna, assistant education officer, said, "Starting this December, CBSE will write letters to heads of various institutes and also will seek feedback from students. And if they come up with some suggestions to improve the system, the board will incorporate them in it, as our main objective is to design something so the students start enjoying education rather than taking it as burden."
